Program Overview

The Marijuana Youth Education Program is an outpatient program designed to educate youth on the risks and dangers of marijuana. The targeted populations for this program are youth who have been charged with non-violent, misdemeanor, or felony drug possession offenses, who are between the ages of twelve (12) and seventeen (17).

Program Objectives

Along with becoming aware of the harms and consequences of marijuana use, the program is designed to meet the following objectives:

  • Significantly reduce or eliminate all marijuana use
  • Improve family functioning
  • Increase school attendance and performance
  • Reduce involvement in the juvenile justice system
  • Increase ability to refuse marijuana and other drugs

Program Design

FPCC will provide youth with eight (8) hours of marijuana education. Areas addressed through the program include:

  • Marijuana Pre and Post Tests
  • Marijuana Defined
  • Marijuana Warning Signs
  • Marijuana Effects on the Body
  • Heredity versus Environment
  • The 12 Steps of Marijuana Recovery
  • Hazards of Impaired Driving
  • Legal Matters
  • Applicable Laws
  • Marijuana Self-Assessment

Upon completion of the Marijuana Youth Education Program, all attendees will receive a certificate of completion
